Elimination
This is a much slower format, as teams tend to bunker down and wait. However, the team with the highest score (minus any of their eliminated players) wins so it’s important to not just hide the entire game – you need to shoot players for points.
Rules
Teams
This format is usually played in teams, and has become a standard format for ZLTAC triples. It can be played solo however.
No Bases
There are no bases to shoot so you just have to focus on players
Lives
You get 10 lives during a game (although this differs in some countries) and if you lose all of them, you are eliminated and must leave the maze. While most scoreboards are yet to show this, being eliminated removes your score for your team. This means even if you were doing very well, it won’t mean anything if you get eliminated. On the same token, it might be worth getting yourself eliminated if your score is in the negatives and you don’t think you can change this.
Fire rate
The fire rate is much slower than a standard game, generally 1 shot every 2 seconds (although again, this can differ by country)
Stuns
If you are shot in the phasor or shoulders, instead of being deactivated you will be stunned. Your pack will make a stun sound and your lights will flash. During this time, you cannot shoot. Stuns last around 3 seconds (differs by country). If you are stunned 3 times, you will be deactivated. Stunning someone gives you some points, but not as many as deactivating them.
No Covering
You must not cover up or block any of your sensors. This means you have to be careful where you put your arms. Click here for covering interpretations.
Sweeping
In competitions, you will generally be given more victory points if your team is the only team remaining at the end.
Different countries and competitions play with their own settings. This means different timing for game time, base reset and recovery, fire rate, deactivation, etc. There are also some different rules such as reloads, health, power, stuns, etc. You can find a table of Competition Format settings in Rules & Regulations.
