Event Info:

New Zealand’s newest event, triples elimination. This is a new format we’ve been trying lately and are likely to see it added to the next LSNZ Invitationals. It’s been a huge hit when we played in in both Auckland and Christchurch previously. Triples is more of a worlds style event (rather than the Australasian style we’ve been playing on Wednesday nights lately) so is a good opportunity to try a different style.

Schedule:

Please arrive at 4:30 to pay and for player briefing. Games will start at 5pm – please make sure you arrive on time to avoid missing games. To stay on schedule, we aim to start games on time regardless of whether everyone is there. We don’t have exclusive access to the site, so we might be playing around a few public games. If it’s quiet we’ll play some extra comp style games like we do on Wednesday nights.

How Triples Elimination works:

4-8 teams of three in the Arena. Stuns and slow fire. Normal scoring for tags but no bases. You start with 10 lives and if you get eliminated your score doesn’t count. We often restrict the play area to force teams closer together. 

Team formation rules:

No rules. Stack your team and go for the win or play with your mates and see how you go. Teamwork and coordination counts more than pack skill in elimination so choose carefully. 

Prizes:

There will be medals for the top three teams.
