Lord of the Rings

This is a very unique format because all it requires are the packs. It’s great for practicing pack skills.

Rules

3 Solo Players

There are only 3 players in this format, and no teams.

No Maze, just a ring

This is played outside the normal maze, inside a circle drawn on the ground. There is nothing in the circle except the players, and they may not step out of it during the game.

Only negative points

In this game, you don’t gain points at all. Instead you lose points when you get tagged. This means the aim of the game is to be tagged the least number of times. The highest score at the end wins, despite of course being a negative score.

Fire rate

The fire rate is much slower than a standard game, generally 1 shot every 2 seconds (although again, this can differ by country)

Stuns

If you are shot in the phasor or shoulders, instead of being deactivated you will be stunned. Your pack will make a stun sound and your lights will flash. During this time, you cannot shoot. Stuns last around 3 seconds (differs by country). If you are stunned 3 times, you will be deactivated.

No Covering

You must not cover up or block any of your sensors. This means you have to be careful where you put your arms. Click here for covering interpretations.

Different countries and competitions play with their own settings. This means different timing for game time, base reset and recovery, fire rate, deactivation, etc. There are also some different rules such as reloads, health, power, stuns, etc. You can find a table of Competition Format settings in Rules & Regulations.
